Trumpeter 1/144 F-22A Raptor wip no.05

well think this would be my last update for the raptor
btw i have to apologies for some skipping on this time progress pic ... wanted to finish it fast ... so if u see some sudden fast forward progress just go along with it

enuf chat here's the pic ... enjoy ~

minor detail air brushing, gloss coat, decal, panel line wash, and flat coat done !!

some close up

the thruster ... got some screw up on the pattern there ... but wont notice right

minor detail and decal

the side missile bay

and finally the tinting canopy ... not showing it earlier is because I've polish it so dun wan to show it b4 i have flat coat the entire plane ...

the missile

well it was very interesting for me cause of 1st time doing the smoke effect ... I've done 2 type of it 1 is just bondite to create the smoke another 1 is using cotton ...
here is the result

smoke effect with cotton

smoke effect with bondite

fitting it to the raptor

well in my opinion bondite is much more easy to handle then cotton ... but cotton look more real for the smoke effect ....

after painting it with smoke black, clear yellow, and clear range

so in the end I'm going with the cotton smoke effect ...

the stand

I've decide only using the bird head only as the logo ... so if i mess up the shape pls ignore it   :D  ... the logo use 0.5 mm pla plate and the circle base use 1 mm pla plate .... the rod using 5 mm pla rod .... then air brushing with steel color then a layer coat of future ...

placing it in side a casing to prevent dust while waiting it to dry ....

so that's all ... after the base is dry then everything is finish ... well maybe I'll polish it a bit b4 taking the finishing pic ...

will be taking the finish pic tomorrow
thanks for reading

Trumpeter 1/144 F-22A Raptor wip no.04

here is another fast update ...

time for air brushing ....

1st off start out with pre-shade with black on the panel line and some hollow area ...

u’ll notice there is a hole at the bottom of the plane … the hole there is for placing a yellow-sub ball joint for the stand

2nd shade with a dark Grey ...

3rd shade with normal grey

next the raptor’s camo with dark grey again using free hand on the camo XD ...

masked the whole plane for spraying the light grey strips at the edge

after removing the masking this is what u get ...

the stand ... please ignore the base for now ... will be changing to another shape maybe the raptor’s logo .... XD

close up on the joints

what’s left is :

  • the metal color at the thruster
  • the white at the missile bay
  • gloss coat
  • dark grey panel line wash
  • decal
  • another gloss coat
  • last with flat coat

after all that’s done then only will move to the missile ...

so hope the next update will be the last  XD

that's all for now

Trumpeter 1/144 F-22A Raptor wip no.03

Another update on the raptor

well for the seam line at the bottom of the wing seem like i have no choice but to cover it up ... from real plane reference there isn't any lines ... so no excuse as trying to make it as panel line  :P

enuf chatting and enjoy the pic …

remove the flesh line at the inner side air intake

cover up the seam line and hole .... then sand and re scribble back the panel line

prime the whole thing

test fitting the side missile hatch

insert a brass rod to the missile and connect it launching arm

current overall

for the smoke effect im still not sure weather to use cotton or bondite ( epoxy putty )… maybe i’ll do both then compare XD …

well that’s all for now

all C&C are welcome

till then…
